The A-Z of API UK Stainless Steel Valves

There are few options available in the UK marketplace for stainless steel valves. API UK are dedicated to offering solutions to all marketplaces including those with demanding environments, which is why we have created a range of stainless steel valves for use with our stainless steel cylinder products. Below, we look at the importance of stainless steel valves, those available to purchase from API UK, and the advantages of each.

Why use stainless steel valves?

Stainless steel is ideal for aggressive environments where corrosive chemicals, high temperatures or demanding applications are an expectation. Industries such as pharmaceutical and food and drink use clean-down processes with steam or caustic cleaning agents, which take an obvious toll on processing equipment. Similarly, oil and gas industries have very demanding environments and the maintenance and replacement of equipment can be extremely costly.

Stainless steel valves reduce the need for regular replacement of components within a system as they offer better resistance to the environments and improved lifecycles. Stainless steel valves available from API UK include:

Stainless Steel Control Valves

The new AX series of stainless steel electrically operated valves has been created specifically for use in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas and mining industries. They have 5/2 and 5/3 connections in line on the body and come with an electric servo pilot. This AX line of electrically operated valves are manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel in accordance with the 2014/34/EU Directive for use in potentially explosive environments.

Stainless Steel Spool Valves

Our stainless steel spool valves have been developed specifically for use with our stainless steel cylinders. This combination of products is ideal for use in the oil and gas, and pharmaceutical sectors where the environment can be corrosive or hazardous.

Stainless Steel Ancillary Valves

Stainless Steel Quick Exhaust Valves

Used to increase the speed of a cylinder, our range of stainless steel quick exhaust valves should be mounted directed onto the cylinder port to achieve maximum speed. Suitable for use with compressed filtered air these can be used with or without lubrication and are manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel with FKM or polyurethane seals.

Stainless Steel Pneumatic Ball Valves

For use in food processing and chemical industries, our stainless steel pneumatic ball valves are a full bore with a long lever. Available as full bore, uni-directional and miniature ball valves, they are manually operated and are suitable for use with compressed air, water, steam, inert gases and fluids. Manufactured from stainless steel AISI 316, they are available with seals made of either PTFE as standard or FKM for high-temperature environments. They are available as standard from ¼” to 2”.
