Fittings and quick couplings from API Pneumatic UK

Find the perfect fit with API fittings and quick coupling fittings. As pneumatic fitting manufacturers, our range is extensive. Every type of pneumatic fitting from API is available in a range of versions, whether you require stud, elbow or banjo couplings. Here, we take you through the types of pneumatic fitting and quick coupling fittings available from API Pneumatic UK.

Push-in fittings

The first type of pneumatic fitting available from API Pneumatic UK is push-in fittings, also known as push-fit fittings. At API, we manufacture three different types of push-in fittings, adapted slightly to meet certain requirements. This type of pneumatic fitting allows for the quick attachment and detachment of pneumatic tubing.

Our series R pneumatic push-in fittings are manufactured from nickel plated brass, and are used to connect nylon and polyurethane tubes. These particular fittings also feature reduced dimensions and a new collet and release collar.

Similar to the R series, we also have the series RT. However, these pneumatic push-in fittings differ in that they have a body and release collar manufactured from Delrin (Acetal resin). Both the RT and R series’ perform highly in temperatures between -20° to 70°C. This temperature range can be extended further with the use of an FKM seal (150°C).

Both the R and RT series’ function well in pressure ranges between 0.5 to 12 bar. However, for an extended pressure range up to 150 bar, choose the third series of pneumatic push-in fitting from API, the R/150, which is specifically designed for use higher pressures.

Types of Pneumatic Fittings

Rapid fittings

Our second type of pneumatic fitting available from API is the rapid fitting, series C. Manufactured from nickel plated brass, the series C is designed for applications where a safer tube fitting connection is required for nylon and PU tubing.

Compression fittings

Series O compression fittings from API are manufactured specifically to connect non-stiff tubes, allowing for a safe connection and the ability to work at higher pressures. This is down to the additions of the ogive acting as a clamp. Make use of these fittings for connecting flexible nylon, PU and solid, copper and stainless steel pipe.

Quick-lock couplings

As well as our range of fittings, API is also a quick coupling manufacturer, offering our series 20, 21 and 26 single shut-off quick-lock couplings. Series 20 quick-lock couplings can be used in the chemical and medical industries due to their small dimensions. Series 21 quick-lock couplings are designed with more common dimensions. Whereas, series 26 is considered the more universal design. All of the quick coupling fittings from API can be used with compressed air, water and non-aggressive fluids.

We not only supply single shut-off quick-lock couplings, we also can manufacture double shut off quick-lock couplings on request. If you require FKM or EPDM seals, API is more than happy to supply these. If necessary, we can also manufacture a quick-lock coupling fitting without a shut off valve.

Stainless steel fittings and quick-lock couplings

If your application requires a pneumatic fitting or quick-lock coupling that can withstand aggressive environments, we also have a range of stainless steel fittings and quick couplings available. For example, for the chemical, pharmaceutical or medical industries, where the fitting would come into contact with chemicals and other corrosive liquids, stainless steel would be necessary.
