Micro regulators that pack a big punch

In this blog, API Pneumatic UK explains what a micro pressure regulator is, and takes a look at our range of micro regulators for compressed air. They may be compact in size, however, our micro air regulators pack a big punch.

What is a micro pressure regulator?

What is a micro pressure regulator? A pressure regulator controls compressed air and maintains a pressure setting. More specifically, a pressure regulator works to maintain the outlet pressure by reducing the inlet pressure as it fluctuates. A micro regulator for compressed air functions the same as all pressure regulators, just in a more compact design for applications that are short of space. A major bonus of choosing API micro air regulators is that they take away the need to vent downstream when reducing pressure.

Micro Regulators for Compressed Air

Micro air regulators from API Pneumatic UK

At API Pneumatic UK, we have a select range of micro regulators available. Each of our micro regulators are manufactured for use with compressed air and are available in two sizes: 1/8” and 1/4”. API Pneumatic UK’s micro air regulators perform well in a temperature range between 0 and 60°C. Their miniature size ensures a space-saving solution for compressed air regulation. Whilst their 2-gauge mounting ports allow for adaptable mounting positions.

The AC400 and the AC700 differ slightly in their main functional features. Firstly, the AC400 is a standard regulator with a relieving valve. This particular type of micro regulator for compressed air has a maximum pressure of 10 bar and a regulation range of 0.5 – 8 bar. The flow rate of the AC400 differs with the 2 available sizes. The AC400 1/8” micro air regulator has a flow rate of 300 l/min, whilst the 1/4” micro air regulator has a flow rate of 500 l/min. Considering their small size, our API Pneumatic UK micro regulators for compressed air offer high flow rates.

The AC700 micro regulator for compressed air, on the other hand, has a more compact design than the AC400. It features full flow gauge ports with a snap action knob, which locks the pressure setting when pushed in. Again, the flow rate differs with the 2 sizes. The AC700 1/8” micro air regulator has a flow rate of 390 l/min whilst the 1/4” has a flow rate of 420 l/min. The max pressure of the AC700 is 15 bar and the regulation range is between 0.5 and 8.5 bar.

At API, we understand that some applications require a smaller pressure regulator that can still perform to the highest standard possible. We are confident that our micro air regulators meet these standards. For more information about our micro regulators for compressed air, contact API Pneumatic UK today.
